A student of Telecom SudParis/AIT Msc program award the Aoyagi Prize.

Suneth Namal Karunarathna

 

Congratulations to Suneth Namal Karunarathna who receives the Aoyagi Prize in recognition of his outstanding academic performance in the field of Information and Communication Technologies. Mr. Karunarathna, a Sri Lankan citizen, obtained his B.Eng. degree, major in Computer Engineering from
University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka in 2007. He was admitted to the AIT Master's program (joined with the Msc program of Telecom SudParis) in August 2008 and completed his M.Eng. degree with a thesis entitled Technology Challenges for Context Aware Multimedia Services.' Prior to joining AIT, he worked as a Teaching Faculty as an Engineer in Sri Lanka Telecom, Sri Lanka. The Aoyagi Prize was established from funds provided in 1994 by Prof. Yukio Aoyagi, former AIT faculty member.

Sraddha AdhikariSraddha Adhikari, student of MSc COMNets Telecom SudParis/AIT MSc COMNets, awards the AIT 2010 Master's Thesis competition in the category of ICT.

Fifty five students participated in the fifth Master’s Thesis Competition at the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT). The event, organized on 17 May, was witnessed by experts from International and regional organizations, partner universities as well as the private sector who acted as judges in various categories.

Sraddha Adhikari was co-directed by Mehdi Mani and Noël Crespi - two teachers of Telecom SudParis department RS2M - on the subject « Content Discovery Using People Social Pattern in Peer-to-Peer Networks ».

 

The INTech club ranks 9 in the 2010 French Cup of robotics

INTech, the robotic club of campus, ranks 9 on more than 180 teams, at the end of 2010 French Cup of robotics, which tooke place from 12th to 15th of May 2010 in La Ferté-Bernard (France), owing to its team "Tech the fruit".

Christelle Baudry wins the 3rd Fondation Telecom Award 2010

Christelle Baudry and Aymeric Pierre, both young alumni from Telecom SudParis, competed for the prestigious Fondation Telecom Award, created to make out the best internships of graduates and post-grades students.

They passed with success the first selection, and presented their project in a short video:

  • Christelle in the "Prix du meilleur stage scientifique ou technologique" category, for her project "analyse de séismes par interférométrie radar";
  • Aymeric in the "Prix du meilleur stage gestion de projet, mission d'ingénieur" category, for his project "développement et mise en place d'une solution de signature numérique en ligne".

The award ceremony tooke place in March, 25th 2010 in the "Jardins de l'innovation d'Orange" (Issy-les-Moulineaux).

Christelle wins the 3rd price after proceedings.

Christine Lagarde presents the award of Challenge Projets d'Entreprendre® the an innovative project.

Award at ministry's hallsOn 4th of June, the Minister of Economy, Industry and Employment, Christine Lagarde, presented the "Grand prix" of the Challenge Projets d'Entreprendre® to the Multeegaming project, a video game platform for PC on demand by downloading. This platform offers users a new way of approaching the video game: rental by hour, evening or month and the possibility to bet points on its own results. This project was supported by a dynamic team composed of students from Telecom Business School and Telecom SudParis. The project leader, Vincent Morel (photo) is a student of the school.

This contest for the creation of star-ups is organized for 10 years by the incubator of Telecom Business School and Telecom SudParis. It mobilizes over several weeks 400 students from the two schools divided into mixed teams engineers / managers. Each defends its project to a panel of professionals and teachers. 4 teams remain in contention for the final selection step at Bercy June 4. These 4 teams each receive a prize of 1500 €.

The team winning the "Grand prix", Multeegaming, leave for a one-week stay this summer in the incubator of Virginia Tech (USA)!

Jagadish GhimireJagadish Ghimire receives the Aoyagi Prize in recognition of his outstanding academic performance in the field of Information and Communication Technologies. Mr. Ghimire, a Nepali citizen, obtained his B.Eng. degree, major in Electronics and Communication from Tribhuvan University, Nepal in 2007. He was admitted to the AIT Master's program (joined with the Msc program of Telecom SudParis) in August 2007 and completed his M.Eng. degree with a thesis entitled 'Analysis of Supernode based Peer-to-Peer System for IP Telephony over Wireless Ad Hoc Networks.' Prior to joining AIT, he worked as a Teaching Faculty at Himalayan Whitehouse International College, Nepal. The Aoyagi Prize was established from funds provided in 1994 by Prof. Yukio Aoyagi, former AIT faculty member.

 

 

The INTech club is vice-champion of the French Cup of robotics 2009.

INTech robotINTech, robotics club on campus, ranked second - and first club among Schools of engineering - in the finals of the French Cup of robotics held from 20 to 24 May 2009 at La Ferté-Bernard (France), thanks to his team "Tech the wave."

Thus qualified to contest the World Cup of robotics, "Tech the wave" has finished 5th tie the competition which saw 3 teams battle each of the twelve countries involved.

The other team "ArchINTech "ranked 110th of the French Cup.

As the first university club of the cup, 4 students of the team are invited to Tokyo (Japan) from 5 to 19 August for the International Design Contest 2009 (IDC Robocon 2009) to represent France.

The project comes at Telecom SudParis under the unit of value "Professional Skills Development".

 

The ARKAN team won the 3rd place of HyperChallenge Carrefour.


Arkan pictureThe ARKAN team, consisting of Nicolas Gimel, Clement Riochet and Mathias Hummel, won the 3rd place in the final of the "HyperChallenge CARREFOUR" held on 26 March 2009.

Their team ranked for the final among 6 teams still in contention, among the 42 teams selected after the pre-selection phase.

A graduate of Telecom SudParis awarded by "SEE" association.

Laurence Vacamberg pictureLaurence Vancamberg graduate Telecom SudParis, was awarded the regional "Youth" award of the Society of Electricity and Electronic (SEE) on 19 January 2009 for his internship at "General Electric" compagny in medical imaging on "the monitoring of respiratory motion in fluoroscopic images X-ray interventional oncology". The distinction has been delivred into the presence of Alain Bravo, president of EDC, Christian Margaria, Director of Telecom & Management SudParis and Pierre Rolin,  Director of Telecom SudParis. The ceremony took place on campus.
Laurence Vancamberg had also received the National Award "André Blanc Lapierre" of the SEE. It was submitted on 9 December 2008 at the College de France.

Two graduate students of Telecom SudParis nominees for the price of Telecom Foundation.

Laurent Pipitone and Philippe-Emmanuel Chadutaud each one on his own prepared a record to compete in 2009 at the prestigious Foundation Telecom price awarded the best internship of study end of engineers and managers.
They passed the first selection and will present their project to the jury in a short video of a few minutes.
The awards will take place on 12nd of March 2009 at 17:30 in the Orangerie in the offices of BNP Paribas.
