common core

The common core enables students to acquire knowledge and basic skills in engineering science and information and communications technologies (ICT).
The common core is delivered over three semesters which are each worth 30 ECTS credits.

First semester programme

  • Mathematicsprinted circuits board
  • Electronic systems and functions 
  • An introduction to Unix – algorithms and programming  
  • An introduction to telecommunications  
  • Probabilities  
  • Financial management and marketing.

Space communicationSecond semester programme

  • Data analysis – Digital analysis
  • Radiation and aerials – Guided propagation
  • Hardware and software architectures – IT project
  • Data networks – Queues – Operator Networks 
  • Signals: tools and applications
  • Enterprise economics and company law.

Third semester programmeMetropolitan network

  • An introduction to statistics – Optimisation methods – Optimisation in graphs.
  • Optical telecommunications systems – High-frequency circuits – Systems and applications integration.
  • Object design and programming – Databases – Organisational information systems.
  • Corporate networks -  TCP/IP: Interconnection and applications
  • Information theory – Digital Communications

During each semester students must:

  • Complete a “personal skills development project”. 
  • Complete a 1 – 3 month discovery placement.  
  • Take languages and humanities classes.

Languages: English and a second language are compulsory, a third language can be taken as an option.
Humanities: political sciences and geopolitics – sustainable development – philosophy and ethics – personal development.
