Incubator

Services

The Incubator Telecom SudParis Entrepreneurs is a service platform aimed at start-ups which are at the launch phase. The services offered by the Incubator are designed to meet the most crucial strategic needs during this delicate initial stage. All those involved in the Incubator are therefore seasoned ICT sector entrepreneurs, who have experienced these launch and development phases.

The projects or companies selected by the Telecom SudParis Entrepreneurs sign a six-month contract which can be renewed up to two times.

During the term of the contract, all the Incubator services are available to them at no cost apart from facilities and any reimbursable advances.

Support

The Telecom SudParis Entrepreneurs team supports start-ups: help drafting the business plan, seeking partners and securing funding, help putting together JEI (Young Innovative Company) and CIR (Research Tax Credit) applications.

A coach / tutor is appointed to monitor and advise the project in conjunction with the Incubator team during regular progress meetings.

The role of the coach is to provide expertise, a network of contacts and advice on the problem issues with which the start-up is faced:

  • Strategy
  • Defining marketing and financial policies
  • Positing in the market and in relation to the competition
  • Structuring the company
  • Securing funding

This role requires knowledge of technologies and markets, and pragmatic day-to-day entrepreneurial experience. That is why all those involved in the Incubator have experience of setting up ICT companies and of securing funds.

Funding

Depending on the type of project and progress made, the Incubator has several funding instruments:

  • Projects from the Telecom SudParis and Telecom Business School community can benefit from funding via €8K grants awarded by Institut Telecom (ex-GET).
  • Option of obtaining reimbursable advances from Télécom SudParis Entrepreneurs for consultancy, expert reports, studies, intellectual property costs, and prototype development services.
  • Putting projects into contact with the seed fund community.

Human and technical resources

  • Providing contacts with the campus laboratories and departments.
  • Providing contacts with Telecom SudParis, Telecom Business School and ENSIIE interns, supporting students during assignments and projects. Every year over fifty students take part in start-up projects in our Incubator.
  • Support provided by Telecom SudParis and Telecom Business School during the start-up’s initial communications campaigns.

Facilities & registered address

Télécom SudParis Entrepreneurs has two enclosed and secure buildings on the campus (500m2), providing fifteen offices with floor space ranging from 15 to 25m², and which are furnished, secure and accessible 24/7, and equipped with telephone lines and network access.

Moreover, the building’s on-campus location means that start-ups can access all the campus services:

  • The Visiocentre (video-conferencing)
  • Meeting rooms
  • Video-projectors
  • Multimedia Library
