Platforms

Institut Mines-Telecom has an active policy of support for platforms.

The importance of platforms as an instrument in the competitiveness of research has become increasingly clear.

It is necessary to support and encourage the formation and operation of platforms in the main areas of research in order to conduct the integration and experimentation actions required under the right conditions.

A platform can be defined as the combination of equipments and human resources to provide for an open community of users, including businesses, services or technological resources to enable them to carry out their research and innovation projects.

The platforms at Télécom SudParis contribute in:

• Maximizing the return of investments.
• Strengthening cross means (in engineering and in management) that serve the different research and teaching departments of the Institut.
• Strengthening the image of Telecom SudParis.
• Developing the position of the school as a privileged partner of industrials on an international scale.

Several platforms are supported at Télécom SudParis.

PERCEVALE platform

The PERCEVALE project was engaged by Telecom SudParis with the contributions of both the "Conseil Général de l'Essonne" and the "Conseil Régional Ile de France".

Its main objective is to deploy a set of experimentation and research platforms contributing to the research programs as well as the expertise and technology transfert to the entreprises.

PERCEVALE is the acronym of Platform of Experimentation and Research in Communication at Evry VAL d‘Essonne.

HadapTIC platform

The aim of HadapTIC project is to develop technologies to provide assistance to dependents people and ensure better safety and quality of life in their daily activity, while enabling significant savings in public health.

HadapTIC is a real platform for open and multi experiments. It combines experts capable of building demonstrators, to specify and conduct studies to use and study the conditions of economic viability.

On a sector now booming HadapTIC can provide its partners with opportunities to develop wide-ranging:

• Exploration and innovation
• Research, development and patent
• Analysis and feasibility studies
• Preconisations service and recommendations for operational implementation

NETWORK and CLOUD FEDERATION platform

The NETWORK and CLOUD FEDERATION (NCF) experimental platform aims at merging networks and cloud concepts, technologies and architectures into one common system.

NCF users can acquire virtual networks (or flash slices) and cloud services (computing, storage, networking) to deploy and validate their own solutions and architectures.

Telecom SudParis relies also on the platform to ensure convergence of networks and clouds principles and to develop open cloud solutions that remove interoperability and portability barriers from providers.

Elasticity and auto-scaling features and properties are embedded in the platform to enable federation and dynamic composition of private and hybrid clouds. The long term goal is to offer infrastructures, platforms and software as a service to support applications developers and providers through open APIs exposing open, unlocked, portable and interoperable services.

Telecom SudParis is incrementally developing the platform using a self-growing approach to meet these openness, extensibility, interoperability and trust expectations from users and stakeholders.
