Ben'INT is a students' association wich brings together 9 engineer students from Telecom SudParis around a humanitarian project: to allow access to computers for disadvantaged people. Let them talk about it:
"In our society, it seems natural to use a computer and to connect to the Internet. But then, this is not the same in parts of the world. In Africa for example, the access to the computer is very limited because very expensive.
That is why we decided to install a computer lab at a school in Benin and to introduce young people to information and to share our knowledge, we will create teaching modules."
The jury "STERIA-Institut de France" which has awarded the scholarship to Bén'INT, were composed:
Yves Quéré, member of the "Academie des Sciences",
François Baccelli, member of the "Academie des Sciences",
Jean Salençon, member of the "Academie des Sciences",
4 representatives of STERIA.
The project, tied with of another school, received a grant of € 7.5 K to complete the equipment of this room.
