Communications, Images, and Information Processing (CITI)

CITI

The CITI (Communications, Images, and Information Processing) teaching and research department was established in 2000 and comprises Telecom SudParis faculty members who are experts in applied mathematics, signal and data processing, machine learning, and digital communications.

The department’s research covers fundamental theoretical aspects and practical applications in various fields, including imaging, communication systems, machine learning, and stochastic modeling.

The department is organized into three complementary scientific areas, corresponding to three research groups:

  • Probability and Statistics
  • Optimization and Machine Learning
  • Information Theory, Communications, Signals

These three areas are closely interconnected and draw on strong expertise in applied mathematics, probabilistic modeling, optimization, and digital communications.

This complementary expertise supports:

  • the development of innovative theoretical methods,
  • their efficient algorithmic implementation,
  • and their application to real-world challenges in information science and technology.

The CITI department is a key contributor to the SAMOVAR laboratory. Through its collaboration with the SOP and ISTeC teams, the department also plays an active role in national and international research projects.
